Responding to all the hate Haley was receiving, Reddit account @sl*tty_bun, who claims to know Haley personally, came to her defense, insisting that Haley wasn’t a clout chaser. “Haley does paranormal readings on TikTok which is how she connected with Tammy,” said the poster, adding, “She did a reading for her and while ago, and ever since then they started chatting regularly, becoming online friends.” The post received over 2,000 upvotes, so there are plenty of fans who disagree with the haters.

In April 2024, Haley posted an Instagram photo of her and Tammy at a diner, with the caption, “You bring out my true smile even thought [sic] is silly.” People were quick to swarm the comment section with unfair accusations that Haley was just using Tammy for internet fame.

She would never have had the confidence to lounge poolside in the sun before she shed 400 pounds.

In a nod to Haley’s unique career path, Amy’s caption reads, “Paranormal princess.” Fans who question Haley’s intentions should keep in mind that no one is more protective of Tammy than Amy. Amy hasn’t always approved of her sister’s relationships.

Like Tammy, Amy has also gone on a weight-loss journey, losing 125 pounds since 1000-lb Sisters premiered. Several other members of the Slaton family have also gotten in on the weight-loss fun. Their brother, Chris Combs, had bariatric surgery and lost over 150 pounds. Not to be left out, their other sisters, Amanda Halterman and Misty Wentworth, had bariatric surgery in March 2023.
